Commission for Socio-Economic Development

Economic self-sufficiency is essential for the development of any individual or society. This requires better structuring of their earning. The credit unions in the parishes have played a significant role in this regard. The Self Help Groups for men, women and children have proved to be a great success. Occasionally financial assistance is also given for housing. Hundreds and hundreds of poor people earn their daily living through the income generation programmes.
